British & Irish Film Festival Luxembourg 2020

Date(s)

The 11th annual British & Irish Film Festival Luxembourg (BIFFL) takes place from Friday 18 September to Sunday 27 September 2020 inclusive, with weekday screenings from 21-25 September being held at the Cinémathèque.

This year, the festival will see some changes as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic however, as a result of the government’s deconfinement strategy, cinemas have opened up again and the festival organisers are looking forward to an exciting 10 days of cinema from England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland across many genres including drama, comedy, thriller, documentary and animation.

Nevertheless, we will be ensuring that the necessary hygiene regulations are respected in full, including social distancing, wearing of masks, cleaning of all surfaces, etc., according to the government legislation during the time of the festival.

This may mean that we cannot hold receptions and it may also mean a reduced programme of films – in any case, we will be programming the best selection that we can within the constraints imposed.

The full programme of screening and guests will be announced at the beginning of September.
