(Cet événement n'a pas de description en français) Repatriation-Reconstruction-A new beginning
May 1945. Athough the Second World War had come to an end, the traumatized Luxembourgish society continued to live in a war-torn country. Deadly land mines and live ammunition, scattered war equipment corpses and carcasses of killed animals added to the general picture of chaos and horror.
For the first time since the end of the war, two museums (local perspective exhibition is located in the Musée d'Histoires Diekirch) explain the reconstruction of Luxembourg after 1945 both from a national and local perspective. The exhibition allows you to dive into a crucial, forgotten period of Luxembourgish contemporary history, traces of which still shape the country today.
